📖 Scriptures: Matthew 3:13–17; Colossians 1:15–20

🎙 Message: Baptism of the Lord – Rev. Romy Velasco

The Baptism of the Lord celebrates a defining moment in the life of Jesus and in the story of salvation. As Jesus steps into the waters of the Jordan, heaven opens, the Spirit descends, and God’s voice declares Jesus as the beloved Son.

Matthew 3:13–17 shows us Jesus’ humility and obedience as he is baptized by John, fully embracing his mission. Colossians 1:15–20 expands our understanding, proclaiming Jesus as the image of the invisible God, the one through whom all things were created, reconciled, and made whole.

In this message, Pastor Romy Velasco will explore how these passages together deepen our understanding of who Jesus is and what baptism means for us today. Baptism reminds us that we are claimed by God’s grace, named as beloved, and called to live in the light and lordship of Christ.
