Our world is filled with competing voices telling us who we should be, how we should act, and where we should find our worth. This Sunday, we explore the foundational truth of our identity. Beginning with the creation account in Genesis, we are reminded that our lives are intentionally designed by a loving God. True self-understanding does not come from looking inward or following worldly trends, but from looking upward to the One who spoke the universe into existence.

Rev. Romy Velasco connects this creation design with Paul's warnings in Romans, where humanity often trades the truth of God for a lie, worshiping created things rather than the Creator. When we lose our connection to God, we lose our understanding of who we are. This message challenges us to re-anchor our lives in biblical truth so we can stand firm against the confusion of modern culture.

Finally, we turn to Ephesians for our daily application. Paul instructs believers to live as children of light. This is a particularly meaningful message for Father's Day, as we look at the vital role fathers and mentors play in modeling this spiritual clarity for the next generation. It is a reminder that knowing who we are in Christ changes how we lead, love, and serve our families.

To celebrate the day, our worship service will feature a special performance from the Green Camp UMC Choir in honor of Father's Day. The celebration continues immediately following the service with our "Pies For Pops" potluck.
