The Convicting Grace of God - September 20, 2026

📖 Scriptures: Philippians 2:5-11; Jeremiah 1:4-5
🎙 Message: The Convicting Grace of God – Rev. Romy Velasco
We often view conviction as something heavy or discouraging, but through the lens of scripture, God’s conviction is a loving act of grace. In Jeremiah 1, God reminds the prophet that before he was even formed in his mother's womb, he was known, set apart, and appointed for a purpose. God's deep knowledge of us means His guidance in our lives is always intended to draw us closer to His divine plan.
Rev. Romy Velasco connects this foundational truth with Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Paul calls believers to embrace the same mind and heart as Christ Jesus, who humbled Himself completely to fulfill the Father’s will. When the Holy Spirit convict our hearts, it is not to condemn us, but to gently reshape our attitudes and lead us toward the true humility and grace modeled by Jesus.
This message invites us to welcome God's loving correction rather than pushing it away. When we align our desires with Christ’s example, we discover a deeper sense of peace, clarity, and purpose. Allowing God's grace to convict and direct us ultimately enables us to love and serve those around us more effectively.
We warmly invite you to join us this Sunday for worship as we reflect on God’s Word together. Whether you are seeking a spiritual home or simply looking for encouragement for the week ahead, you are always welcome at Green Camp UMC.
