📖 Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:20; Genesis 3:19
🎙 Message: “Dust to Dust” – Rev. Romy Velasco
Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent with a solemn and meaningful reminder of our humanity and our need for God’s grace. The words spoken on this day — “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return” — call us to humility, reflection, and repentance.
In Genesis 3:19, we are reminded of our mortality. Yet in 2 Corinthians 5:20 and 6:2, we hear a powerful invitation: “Be reconciled to God… now is the day of salvation.” Even in acknowledging our frailty, we are met with the hope of redemption through Christ.
In this message, “Dust to Dust,” Pastor Romy Velasco will reflect on how Ash Wednesday holds together honesty about our brokenness and confidence in God’s restoring grace. The imposition of ashes marks not only repentance, but also belonging — a visible sign that we turn again toward the One who gives life.
Join us at Green Camp United Methodist Church as we begin the Lenten journey together in prayer, worship, and renewed commitment to Christ.
