🎙 Message: Growing Up In Faith – Rev. Romy Velasco

A healthy faith is never static. Just like living organisms in the physical world, our spiritual lives are designed by God to progress, mature, and expand. This week, we examine several New Testament letters that challenge believers to move past spiritual infancy. We look at Peter's final instruction to grow in grace and knowledge, alongside Paul's encouragement to live our lives deeply rooted and built up in Jesus Christ.

Rev. Romy Velasco connects these scriptures to illustrate the dynamic nature of Christian discipleship. True spiritual maturity isn't about achieving perfection, but about establishing a steady direction. When we are firmly established in the truth, our lives naturally begin to overflow with gratitude, and our love for one another starts to abound, even in times of trial.

This message invites us to take an honest look at our own spiritual habits. Are we actively nurturing our relationship with God, or have we allowed our faith to become comfortable and stagnant? By leaning into the Holy Spirit, studying the Word, and participating in church life, we find the nourishment necessary to keep moving forward.

Our worship service this week is a wonderful opportunity to gather, reflect, and encourage one another in this shared journey of growth. Additionally, we invite our musical members to stay for a short time following the service, as the GCUMC Choir will be holding practice immediately after worship. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
