Sunday School Preview: September 13 – His Destiny, Her Purpose

Adult Sunday School at Green Camp United Methodist Church provides a meaningful opportunity to grow in our understanding of Scripture and strengthen our relationship with God. Through open discussion and shared reflection, participants are encouraged to connect biblical truths with the realities of everyday life.

On Sunday, September 13, our lesson, His Destiny, Her Purpose, will focus on John 1–21. These chapters take us through the Gospel of John’s account of Jesus’ ministry, from the opening declaration of who He is through His teachings, miracles, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Throughout John’s Gospel, Jesus demonstrates a clear sense of purpose. He knows why He came and remains committed to His mission even when the road leads to suffering and the cross. At the same time, the people who encounter Jesus are repeatedly given opportunities to respond to Him and to take part in what God is doing.

The theme His Destiny, Her Purpose invites us to think about the connection between Christ’s mission and our own calling. Jesus came with a unique and eternal purpose, but He also called ordinary people to follow Him, serve others, share the good news, and live out their faith.

During this lesson, participants will reflect on what it means to recognize God's purpose in their own lives. We will discuss how our gifts, experiences, relationships, and circumstances can become opportunities to serve God and make a difference in the lives of others.

John's Gospel ultimately points us back to the risen Christ and the hope found in Him. As we consider Jesus' purpose and the response He invites from His followers, we are encouraged to ask not only what God has called us to do, but how faithfully we are living that calling.

Adult Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM, followed by worship at 10:30 AM. We invite you to join us as we continue learning, growing, and discovering how our lives fit into God's greater purpose.
