This Mother’s Day, we turn our hearts to a powerful encounter in the Gospel of Matthew. We find a mother whose daughter is suffering greatly, leading her to approach Jesus with a persistence that refuses to be ignored. Her story is a testament to the lengths a mother’s love will go and the profound depth of faith that moves the heart of God.

Rev. Romy Velasco will explore how this woman’s humility and "great faith" serve as an inspiration for all of us today. In addition to the message, we are blessed to have Chona Velasco share a special "Mother’s Moments" devotional, offering a personal and spiritual reflection on the journey of motherhood and the grace that sustains it.

The service will be enriched by a morning of special music. We look forward to the ministry of the GCUMC Choir, as well as a special musical selection from Karen Stover and Jodi Porter. These moments of praise provide a space for us to express our gratitude to God for His faithfulness and for the mothers and mother-figures in our community.
