We often look for God’s power in miraculous signs, but scripture shows us that His power is also displayed in His sovereign guidance, His gentle shaping of our hearts, and His faithful provision. In Jonah chapter one, we see what happens when we try to resist God's divine calling. Yet, as Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 5:6, when we humble ourselves under God's mighty hand, He lifts us up in due time.

Rev. Romy Velasco will connect Jonah’s story with the Apostle Paul’s joyful letter to the Philippians. Paul learned the secret of contentment in every situation—not through his own willpower, but by leaning completely on God’s power. Whether in times of abundance or need, we are assured that God will meet all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

This message invites us to yield our plans to God's greater purpose. When we surrender our resistance and choose humility, we unlock the strength needed to navigate life's challenges and serve others with joy.

This Sunday is also a joyful occasion as we celebrate Children's Promotion Sunday! We will recognize and pray over our children as they transition into their new Sunday School classes for the upcoming year.
