When God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah decided to board a ship heading in the exact opposite direction. He quickly learned that running from God's presence is an impossible task. In Jonah chapter one, a fierce storm overtakes the ship, shaking the sailors and forcing Jonah to confront the reality of his choices.

Rev. Romy Velasco explores how God’s pursuit of Jonah was not driven by anger, but by a relentless love and purpose. The storm was not meant to destroy Jonah, but to wake him up from his spiritual slumber. Even in the middle of chaos, God was at work—not only in Jonah’s heart, but also in the lives of the pagan sailors who came to fear the Lord through this event.

This message challenges us to examine the areas in our own lives where we might be tempted to pull away from God's guidance. Whether we are fleeing out of fear, pride, or disagreement with God's plan, we are reminded that His grace is persistent enough to chase us down and restore us.
