Dear Friends,

Ash Wednesday begins the 40 days of Lent. Lent is an important time of the year to nurture our inner life. It is a time during which we not only prepare ourselves to celebrate the mystery of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but also the death and resurrection that constantly takes place within each of us.

I invite you on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 7 PM to gather together for a solemn service of marking our foreheads with ashes a sign of the cross reminding us that from dust we came to dust we return.

We acknowledge that we are dust, we are powerless, but we are not without hope, Jesus Christ has the power to redeem us, to help us , to raise us up. This is the meaning of the simple ritual we will be having on Wednesday night. The imposition of ashes on our foreheads with a mark of a cross reminds us of our commitment to follow Jesus Christ all the way to the Cross.

Your attendance and prayers will help to make this service a very meaningful one for us all. l I look forward to seeing you at Green Camp United Methodist Church. May God's blessing be with you with the guidance and protection of God the Holy Spirit.
