Green Camp United Methodist Church is thrilled to announce a heartwarming and hands-on event perfect for celebrating the special mothers in our lives. On Saturday, May 10th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we will be hosting a Mother's Day Make & Take event, offering children in grades kindergarten through fifth the opportunity to create a truly unique and meaningful gift. Kids can be registered online at greencampumc.org/program/maketake.

What Budding Artists Can Expect:

Each participating child will receive a flower pot ready to be transformed into a work of art. We will have an array of art supplies available for customization, including paints in various colors, colorful markers, glitter to add a touch of sparkle, and other embellishments to let their imaginations run wild. Whether they choose to paint a beautiful design, write a heartfelt message, or create a unique pattern, each pot will be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Once the pots are decorated to their heart's content, the real fun begins! We will provide beautiful, child-friendly flowers and fresh potting soil. Our friendly volunteers will guide the children through the simple process of planting, teaching them a little about nurturing life while they create their special gift. This hands-on activity not only fosters creativity but also provides a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature.

Throughout the event, our dedicated team will be on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, and ensure a fun and supportive environment for all the young participants. We believe in nurturing creativity and providing opportunities for children to engage in meaningful activities that strengthen family bonds.

More Than Just a Craft:

The Mother's Day Make & Take event at Green Camp UMC is more than just a crafting session. It's an opportunity for children to actively participate in celebrating Mother's Day, moving beyond simply giving a pre-packaged present. It allows them to invest their time and effort into creating something truly personal, fostering a sense of pride and ownership in their gift. The act of planting a flower also symbolizes growth, love, and the nurturing spirit often associated with motherhood.
